Take A Listen: A Journey in Jazz with Ambrose Akinmusire.
The son of a Nigerian father and an American mother, Ambrose Akinmusire is a powerful ‘voice’ in the world of jazz today. Signed to Blue Note, the 31-year-old trumpeter was the winner of the 2007 Thelonious Monk International Jazz Competition and the Carmine Caruso International Jazz Trumpet Solo Competition, and after much hype he’s back with a brand new album.
Listening to his soon-to-be-released bold yet melancholy third album The Imagined Savior Is Far Easier To Paint, due out March 11th, I find myself heavily transfixed as each hypnotic track takes me through deeper levels of a world colorfully illustrated with sounds that paint pictures where words fail, transcending space and time.
All Africa, All the time.

This has to be one of my favorite albums of all time!
